When is STODA typically used?

STODA is referenced when a .6% net climb gradient (equivalent to a 2.4% gross gradient for two-engine aircraft) does not provide sufficient obstacle clearance. APG’s method inherently accounts for this by evaluating actual terrain and obstacle data.
