What do 14 CFR 135.379 and 135.385 require?
According to 14 CFR 135.379 (Takeoff) and 135.385 (Landing):
“No person operating a turbine engine powered large transport category airplane may take off [or land] that airplane at a weight greater than that listed in the Airplane Flight Manual for the elevation of the airport and the ambient temperature existing at takeoff [or landing].”
This same requirement is also found in 14 CFR Part 121, meaning both 121 and 135 operators must adhere to AFM limitations.
