What about the 80% factor?

Some operations (e.g., alternate airports or certain exemptions) may use an 80% factor:

• Multiply LDA by 0.80, or
• Multiply AFM landing distance by 1.25

Example:
AFM landing distance = 2,250 ft
→ 2,250 × 1.25 = 2,812.5 ft
→ Must be ≤ LDA

What is “unfactored landing distance”?
This is the raw landing distance from the AFM, based on:

• Aircraft weight
• Configuration
• Airport conditions

It does not include any regulatory safety factors.
