Since APG Engine-Out Procedures (EOPs) are not “flight checked” or “FAA approved,” how can we be confident they provide adequate obstruction clearance?
APG EOPs are deviations from Standard Instrument Departures (SIDs), and they are validated to the same extent that the underlying SIDs are flight tested. While APG’s EOPs are not individually flight-checked or FAA-approved, they are developed using authoritative data sources. Aircraft performance data is sourced directly from OEM-published Aircraft Flight Manuals (AFMs) and supplemental documents. Terrain and obstacle data are obtained from official government sources. This ensures that all EOPs are built on reliable, regulatory-compliant data to provide safe and accurate obstacle clearance.
