If my aircraft is under the approach climb limit weight, am I cleared to fly the published missed approach procedure?

Yes, but with an important caveat.

The approach climb limit published on APG landing analysis charts is based on the Aircraft Flight Manual (AFM) requirement that the aircraft must be able to achieve a 2.1% climb gradient with:
  • One-engine inoperative
  • Gear up
  • Go-around thrust
  • Flaps in the go-around configuration
This requirement is independent of the actual missed approach procedure being flown and does not account for terrain or obstacle clearance along the published missed approach path.
