For single-engine aircraft, APG EOPs still serve as emergency guidance. In the event of engine failure, the pilot must execute a forced landing. The DP provides a pre-planned escape path to help identify the safest direction for descent, similar to how a multi-engine aircraft would use the DP after losing an engine.
