How do I use the Minimum Climb Gradient Tool?

  1. Enter the required climb gradient (as a percentage) or rate of climb (in ft/NM) into the “Min Grad” field.
  2. Enter the target altitude (in feet MSL) into the “Elevation” field.
  3. iPreFlight will use your arrival analysis inputs (e.g., airport altitude, OATC, wind) to calculate the maximum climb weight.

If the procedure is limited by weight, a weight and the code “CL” will appear in the “Limit” field.

If not limited, the field will show the standard runway analysis outputs.

A new field in the Release will display maximum climb weights for the required gradient and elevation across a small temperature range.
