How do I use the Minimum Climb Gradient Tool?
- Enter the required climb gradient (as a percentage) or rate of climb (in ft/NM) into the “Min Grad” field.
- Enter the target altitude (in feet MSL) into the “Elevation” field.
- iPreFlight will use your arrival analysis inputs (e.g., airport altitude, OATC, wind) to calculate the maximum climb weight.
If the procedure is limited by weight, a weight and the code “CL” will appear in the “Limit” field.
If not limited, the field will show the standard runway analysis outputs.
A new field in the Release will display maximum climb weights for the required gradient and elevation across a small temperature range.
